That was actually never confirmed. She got a freaking forest dropped on her, yeah, but she's a ninja, she could have survived.

Fair enough. If Reed Richards can survive a mountain getting dropped on him...

 Re: Distant Speculation
Besides, when has canon!death ever stopped a pairing?
Though I do believe most Naruto/Tayuya stories use the idea that she survived having a forest land on her to explain her not-dead state.

You know what's funny, I haven't seen a single scene with Tayuya in it, except when she was putting up the 4-point-seal.

 Re: Distant Speculation
Yeah, most stories with Tayuya pairing with someone has her surviving the forest. Usually, she's crippled, and Tsunade has to save her. Naruto's usually the one who finds her, though I think there was one that had Shikamaru and Temari take her back after defeating her. There are also a couple where Naruto joins Sound at a young age, and they get together that way.

 Re: Distant Speculation
I just had another episode of Fridge Brilliance and foreshadowing. In Chapter 10, there's this: Quote: Gai was drinking the traditional beverage for such an occasion, but he insisted that the underage genin drink non-alcoholic potables. Naruto didn’t have a problem with that – he didn’t want to become drunk, and he knew an alcoholic couldn’t become Hokage. I sense more confrontations in the future.

 Re: Distant Speculation
Well considering Naruto's first impression of Tsunade in the other canon!, maybe^^ Though, think of what a drunk Naruto would say to Hinata here, serious blush-worthiness.

 Re: Distant Speculation
I think it was just a little Take That at the canon Tsunade on Matt's part. Or maybe something just pointing out Naruto's ignorance on the true habits of the Hokages. Sarutobi was a pervert who regularly read Icha Icha, and Tsunade drank and gambled. These traits didn't seem to affect the operation of the village, and it seems to me that Tsunade cleaned up a bit as time went on, but they were far from the idolized version of the Hokage that Naruto seems to see.

And then there's Danzou...
... In retrospect, I wonder what the 1st and 2nd had as habits? Or, for that matter, was the 4th just as perverted as his son?

 Re: Distant Speculation
Heh, I've been reading " Oh God not again!" a HP-timetravel fic. I like to think Yondie was like Harry in that. Neville's Boggart is Harry as Minister for Magic Quote: “You know,” Boggart-Harry said. “Monday is probably the most depressing day ever, let’s cancel it. And what’s this nonsense about not being able to own a dragon in Britain? I say we give one to anyone with a license. Oh! And we can add a dragon tax to the Pureblood tax! And how did the ghost community respond to my decree to allow Sir Nicholas into the Headless Hunt? I-”
--------
Neville looked tentatively at Harry. “You wouldn’t…REALLY…convert your old house into a haunted house would you? Or allow people to keep their name off of the list of registered animagus’ by paying extra? Or give the House Elves a union? Or allow Goblin’s to use wands on Mondays since they don’t exist? Or make everyone wear pink on Thursdays? Or make ‘Do the Hippogriff’ by the Weird Sisters Magical Britain’s national anthem? Or regularly import llamas and releasing them in random places? Or-”

*shrug* they're awesome animals, I'd support the import and release of llamas.

Rise from your grave! Is it bad form to necro one's own thread?
Anyway, it's been said that the sannin's students start to resemble them... If Tsunade takes an interest in Hinata in this story, I predict much awesomeness.

Aim for the head! Aim for the head!
Ahem.
I wonder, is Tsunade's super-strength technique compatible with the Hyuuga Gentle Fist? If so, that would make for one hell of a secret weapon. Go into a Gentle Fist stance, your opponent allows you to hit an arm tenketsu in exchange for hitting with something else, your opponent is -1 arm, and any iron body techniques, like Kakuzu's thing, won't work as the tenketsu'll get screwed up at the same time.

 Re: Distant Speculation
Remember, everyone, the three rules of zombie slaying: 1) Headshots always kill. 2) Shotguns are your friends. 3) Swords don't need to be reloaded.

 Re: Distant Speculation
And of course the secondary rules:
4. Bring many, many friends. 5. Zombies are stupid, you are smart. Act like it. 6. Use cover, use the high ground, and most importantly have an escape route. 7. If possible, get out of the danger zone. If not possible, then bunker up in an area inaccessible to zombies but highly visible to the cavalry. 8. Above all else, do not hide a zombie wound. Zombie wounds are 100% fatal. If you are hit then you are already dead, your body just hasn't realized it yet. Announce it to the group and offer to take on a suicide job. Since you are going to die anyway, make your death useful. If there are no suicide jobs available and/or not enough supplies to make one worthwhile, then make peace with your friends and your god(s) before killing yourself to prevent further infection.
Also, while swords do not need to be reloaded guns will be of no use if you are dead. Use them up before you willingly get that close to something which can kill you with a scratch.

 Re: Distant Speculation
Zombies are a nonissue in the Team 8 'vers unless the authorlord decides to spare Yugito, but in the meantime... Due to Haku surviveing this time around, I'd like to request that a Tayuya/Haku ship get worked in somehow. Why, you ask? Well, it'd be funny for the (possibly) most masculine female character and the (again, opinions...) most feminine male character end up paired. This even has a slight possability of happening, due to Shikamaru not makeing chuunin, Haku will likely lead the Sasuke retrival team. Yeah.

 Re: Distant Speculation
Can you even imagine the slaughter that ninjas would unleash upon a horde of zombies? I mean, they're ninjas. In the time it would take one zombie to even register that they're there, they could already have delivered a few dozen kunai to the head. Unless, of course, the zombies retain some of their ninja-abilities....there's probably already a fanfic like that.

Zombies may actually have a chance (a slim chance) if they don't generate killing intent while attacking. Without the split second of warning provided by killing intent, ninja are significantly more likely to die when faced by ravenous zombie hordes.

 Re: Distant Speculation
Wait, are you saying that, because they don't want to kill anyone (just eat their brains), the zombies might actually have a (slim) chance? There's something screwy with the logice here, but I like it. But...what abount ninja zombies? What if they're more likely to be rotting carcasses leaping from roof to tree hungering for your brains, trather than the civilians, who are rotting carcasses shambling about on the ground floor hungerring for your brains?
...damn, I want to read this now.

 Re: Distant Speculation
That is something very similar to the concept of the Jiang Shi(hopping corpses). But if I'm not mistaken, those feed on life force rather than brains. BTW, Soul Eater has Sid, an heroic version of a ninja zombie. Just saying.

 Re: Distant Speculation
Because it sounds cooler.
Ninja zombies, in my mind, come to the fore as fast headcrab zombies. Even those might have a problem against ninjas, but they don't have to sleep.
